Edwin Horton Jr.
President & CEO

Ed Horton brings over 25 years of experience from the technology industry to Urban Produce. His vision of automation is what drives Urban Produce to become more efficient. With God and his family by his side he is excited to move Urban Produce forward to provide urban cities nationwide with fresh locally grown produce 365 days a year. Ed enjoys golfing and walking the harbor with his wife on the weekends.


Rosie Horton
Vice President of HR & Administration

Rosie Horton brings over 25 years of experience in administration to the Urban Produce team. She has a passion for helping others and believes Urban Produce is the perfect way to provide nutrient dense whole foods to all. In her spare time Rosie enjoys walking, traveling and spending time with her family.


Danielle Horton
Director of Marketing

Danielle graduated from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo with a Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural Business. She is also a Certified Nutritionist and brings a passion for health and wellness to the Urban Produce team, encouraging everyone to always eat their fruits and vegetables. She enjoys anything that involves the outdoors, baking healthy recipes for her family, and reading.


Brian Stanphill
Director of Operations and Food Safety

Brian Stanphill brings over 15 years of Logistical and Operations experience to Urban Produce. From his days as a Marine SGT Brian learned the importance of treating everyone respectfully. When Brian isn’t chasing around his 3 boys he liked to hit the basketball courts.


Andres Ovalles
Grower – Crop Management

Andres brings over 10 years of hydroponic experience to the Urban Produce Team. Through hands on experience, Andres developed a skill for plant biology. Outside of work Andres can be seen spending time with his wife and 4 children.


Nicole Bergelin
Grower – Product Development

Nicole graduated from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo with a degree in Crop Sciences. After being a lead manager for the Hydroponic Green House Program at Cal Poly Nicole developed a passion for anything that grows. She is eager to take on new challenges and grow new and unique crops for Urban Produce. For fun Nicole likes to hit the fields for a game of softball or tend to her garden.

Assistant Grower & Cal Poly SLO Crop Sciences Student

Edwin graduated From Cal Poly San Luis Obispo with a degree in Agriculture & Environmental Plant Sciences with a concentration in plant protection and a minor in crop science. Edwin brings dedication and a hint of comedy to the Urban Produce team. Thanks to the “Learn By Doing” philosophy at Cal Poly, Edwin brings hands on experience to the forefront bringing Urban Produce the latest in crop production.


Talia Samuels
Publicist

Talia Samuels is the Founder and President of Outshine Public Relations, a boutique PR and social media firm specializing in the hospitality and food services industries. She also sits on the Board of Directors for the California Restaurant Association’s Orange County chapter. In her spare time, she enjoys riding bikes and paddle boarding with her family.


David Hartshorne
CFO

David Hartshorne brings extensive finance and accounting experience to Urban Produce. David was the Controller of Kirkhill Aircraft Parts Company (KAPCO) for nearly 17 years, retiring in 2005. KAPCO is a leader in aerospace supply chain management and implemented a successful ESOP in 1988. He attended the University of Colorado, Boulder, Leeds School of Business, where he received his Bachelor of Science in Business with an Accounting and Finance major.
